Burnside Food Market, island's first Indian grocery store has been serving Greater Victoria and surrounding areas for over 35 years. In 2018 when Sameer and Amit were planning to open a meat store in Victoria found about the store being sold. This news gave them with the idea of starting a full service Indian Grocery store with meat products.

In May 2018 they bought the store and enhanced the inventory with different kinds of flour, lentils, rice, pickles, papads, spices, tea, coffee and various Indian snacks. Their goal was to offer almost everything that is used in an Indian kitchen.

In May 2020 they opened a franchise for Fraserview Meats offering various options for meat lovers.
